I was fortunate to join Muzo and team at Shake Up in Austin, TX to talk about our growing research on the impacts of social ergonomics.
How can we make places where every student is able to comfortably engage both their peers and their learning? #EduSky

Free and reduced lunch shouldn't be a measure of anything because we should not make any family pay for school lunch at all.

I also laughed in a sad and solemn kind of way that the paper with the very lowest (citations per year) was this work way back from season 3... one of my all-time favorites full stop:
What If Only What Can Be Counted Will Count? A Critical Examination of Making Educational Practice “Scientific”

This paper is also outkicking the coverage from a more recent year... which also tracks, given the prominence and strength of name recognition of the author team.

Season 4 was a banger year... and honestly, that tracks with our casual conversation while collecting the data. Really stellar group of papers!

We are leveling up our nerd level for this year's season finale of Two Pint PLC... we're taking the advice of @adverbia.bsky.social and doing a "Where Are They Now?" review of our past top papers.
It's kinda fascinating!

I would much prefer to pour resources into staffing schools (tutors) and creating high quality instructional materials rather than creating bigger LLMs.
That is informed to a substantial degree by the lack of progress from LLMs in moving from "now" to "ideal"...

@donmoyn.bsky.social's recent piece turns my thoughts briefly to an interaction I had with a former colleague in Sept (not from the US)... He believed Trump would help with housing because he had a real estate business.
I told him outright "no" even then.
Housing one of the largest cuts in 2026.

I produce and co-host an education research podcast that releases new episodes on the 12th of every month.
This month we talk about different team teaching models for collaboration, and later the importance of epistemic empathy to responsive teaching.
Check it out!
