“Wicked” and “Gladiator II” were on pace this weekend to sell roughly $380 million in tickets worldwide. In North America, “Wicked” was headed to No. 1.

There’s more of course, but, honestly, if the only thing Wicked accomplishes is making Cynthia Erivo more Popular, I’m perfectly fine with that. Her performance is, indeed, Defying Gravity.
