It’s Michael and I don’t feel the need to call you any names as I don’t know anything about you.

I don’t. I’ve launched a social enterprise to acquire a stake in one football club. Ebbsfleet project had nothing to do with me and couldn’t be more different unless you take a highly reductive view. I do propose to save all football and never have.

You’ve hit the nail on the head. That’s quite hard to get right. We want to engage with fans before we formulate a deal with the owners. But when we engage the fans they then ask what the deal is and it doesn’t exist yet. Can you see the challenge?
April 4, 2025 at 7:16 PM
Hmmm. I’ll allow people to draw their own conclusions on that. I’m welcoming challenges and open to all insights from all fans. I’ve even offered to debate with you but you have declined. I answer the questions that make sense.

I’m happy to hear people’s concerns about this. They are often reasonable concerns but can also be addressed
April 4, 2025 at 4:16 PM
Which clubs are you thinking of out of interest? Fan ownership is in all but one example (that I’m aware of) partial and there is no example of it fully funding a club. Wimbledon have done extremely well on fan ownership but I believe lost over £2m last year.
April 4, 2025 at 4:15 PM
I haven’t pretended that. Injecting significant working capital into a loss making club will clear debts. Capex investment into club and local infrastructure will allow a club to better commercialise itself. A larger supporter base will attract much more inward investment and transform the clubs biz

You are not obliged to do anything Martin. As I keep saying I respect your position and understand the ideology that underpins it. I’d just encourage you to consider the reality of the situation. 6 clubs have spoken to me this week alone who have understood the www.fc100000.com campaign.
FC100000 | Become a part owner of an English football club
FC100000 gives football supporters from around the world the chance to become part owners of an English football club.

I think the current model is failing a lot of clubs and it would be beneficial to football and society if we could find a better model. Do you think it’s better to stick with the status quo?
April 4, 2025 at 4:00 PM
Do you have evidence I can’t make it work?

All for scepticism. Bring it on. Just try and do it based on substantiated facts rather than speculation.
April 4, 2025 at 3:59 PM
I respect that position Martin and can understand some of the reasons why you hold that position. Which ownership model do you prefer?

1/ random millionaire
2/ pariah state
3/ oligarch
4/ local fan funding model?

I love the idea of 4 but having modelled it I can see it doesn’t work.
April 4, 2025 at 3:58 PM
It isn’t. I’m confident you can’t. You haven’t asked any questions? You’ve made a bunch of unsubstantiated claims and each time I’ve called you out you have chosen to deflect rather than answer. You also keep refusing to discuss it which might suggest to some that you don’t really back yourself.
April 4, 2025 at 3:28 PM
Ok let’s chat and establish whether I can communicate? I’m keen to hear your well thought through ideas for solving what is such an obvious problem. I keep asking people to suggest what they would do but am
met with silence.
April 4, 2025 at 2:53 PM
Very keen on respectful disagreement Martin. But will continue to call out misinformation or unsubstantiated claims. I’ve repeatedly said I understand the scepticism and am happy to engage with anybody to discuss those concerns. I offered to do this with you but you declined. I wonder why? 😂
April 4, 2025 at 2:50 PM
Right ok. I’ve had a couple of businesses in my time but you are right some models work and some don’t.
April 4, 2025 at 10:59 AM
Incorrect. I’ve repeatedly said that I fully respect the scepticism of some fans as they have been badly burnt by all kinds of ownerships schemes of the past. I’m thankful to the thousands of fans who have signed up and sent messages of support.
April 4, 2025 at 10:57 AM
Fair comment. Let’s never do anything new then as it’s great as it is. Should be a few clubs still going 10 years from now. You have any solutions or just against everything?
April 4, 2025 at 10:56 AM
No it doesn’t. Incorrect.
April 4, 2025 at 10:55 AM
Is it? Ok thanks for your guidance on that.
April 4, 2025 at 10:55 AM
Incorrect. How do you know this. You haven’t been in any of the meetings I’ve been in from what I can recall?
April 4, 2025 at 10:54 AM
Incorrect. How do you know what I can do? Interestingly a lot of football clubs seems to wholeheartedly disagree with you. But as ever happy to engage on the facts if that’s of any interest to you?
April 4, 2025 at 10:54 AM
Hi Ian. Can we chat. Enjoyed your article but it’s predicated on a falsehood. The list of clubs on the website is generated by the customers who subscribe. It’s not a wish list of who we want to buy. I’d genuinely like to debate this approach with you as much of the coverage thus far has been false.
March 24, 2025 at 5:42 PM
Hi Martin. You mention an absence of evidence. Do you have any evidence for anything you’ve posted or alleged? All I can see is misinformed conjecture about the nature of this scheme? You also say football needs to change. Can you let me know if you have any ideas?
