Notions of Space IX, my largest work to date, 200 x 200 cm is on show at my major solo exhibition Abstraction in Motion at Schouwburg Hengelo until 5 April.

In the exhibition are a kinetic film, 4 kinetic machines, 2 kinetic objects, a large number of optical paintings and screenprints.

Traveling in Sri Lanka these last weeks I have been inspired by the bright colours of the birds. Especially the kingfishers which flicker in and out of view, their vivid colors brief yet lingering. I am exploring how these passing hues imprint themselves on our perception and memory.
