It was awful. Glad you're okay. I feel sorry for the kids who were there.

I was there in the march and it was awful. There were thousands of us marching peacefully after the rally in the park. This is the first cloud of gas to engulf us as we marched south on Moody. I pushed through it and then got hit with a second cloud that took me out. Thankful for the medics.

Same. And this is the wall of gas that engulfed us. I actually tried to push this cloud but got hit with the second cloud which took me out. Thankful for the medic who assisted me with the tear gas wipe.

It was a labor rally with over two dozen unions participating. Many people brought their families with them. The march was very peaceful until ICE decided to unleash gas. Their building is closed on the weekends and they have a large gate so no need at all to do what they did.

Photo I took of the first gas cloud coming at us as we marched down Moody towards ICE. People are turning to get away. I decided to try and push through and got hit with that cloud and the second cloud. I was incapacitated at that point. Thankful for a nearby medic.

I was there and marching peacefully with thousands of others when ICE unleashed the flash bangs and gas. It was a wall of gas coming down the street that engulfed hundreds of us. Thankful for the medics that appeared out of nowhere to start treating us.

I was there as well and concur it was a massive cloud of gas we got hit with. I was marching south on Moody when the first flash bangs went off and then the cloud of gas engulfed us. Still two blocks away from the facility so didn't see what, if anything, provoked ICE to unleash like that.

I was there and got hit hard by the gas. It was a shit ton, as they say. I was wiped out by it and saw hundreds of other people in severe distress as well. Thankful for the medics on scene with the tear gas wipes.

I was there and got nailed hard by the gas cloud. I was with the DSA group so probably two blocks behind you if you had just passed the facility.

I was there and agree. Got hit by the first cloud and decided to push through it only to get hit by the second cloud which took me out. So many people were overcome by the gas including children.

I've protested several times at the ICE facility in Portland over the last several weeks. We are a long way away from being in over our heads. Everyone should protest according to their own risk tolerance.

I wonder why they didn't cite a law that was being violated. That's right, because there is no law being violated.

Yes! Nice to see it still up.

They carry multiple license plates and switch them on unmarked cars.

Second time you've captured some of my protest art. This time it's the paste up Protect Migrants.

The article would have you assume that ICE officials are treating immigrants fairly in Portland and cooperating with their attorneys. No one is getting released after getting picked up so really the attorneys are just upset that they don't get a few billable hours before the transfer to Tacoma.

Federal officers have a defacto immunity from misconduct allegations because there are no internal constraints in place. No one will investigate misconduct, act on misconduct, or ultimately prosecute misconduct. DOJ will turn a blind eye to everything.

A lot of gas lighting in that article. It assumes that ICE officials were helping immigrants in that building before the protests and that immigration attorneys were actually walking out with their clients. The article almost makes a case for more ICE facilities.

False. People are protesting in front of the building but no one has tried to burn it down.
June 20, 2025 at 4:06 PM
Just like a few days ago when they said the facility was breached by explosives.
June 19, 2025 at 11:17 PM
No, that's not what happened. DHS exaggerates everything about 10 fold from what is reality.

Direct action has its place within the larger protest movement. The further we slide into fascism the more we'll need those willing and able to engage in direct action.
