Meanwhile my LinkedIn timeline is mostly former coworkers, some of whom had been at the KC for one or two decades, announcing their new roles with other organizations. So essentially this year's Honors is being run almost completely by people who've never done this before with no one to advise them.

It's impossible to overstate how all-consuming preparations for the Kennedy Center Honors are. An event of the magnitude the Post describes, held essentially concurrently, sounds like a living nightmare.
