Poets and poetry lovers join us this Thursday, April 17, at the Mechanics' Institute in San Francisco. It will be a unique night that includes bilingual poems and pairs a few poets who have never read together. Our books will be available. If you cannot make it, invite your poetry-addicted friends.

AWP 2025 # V -- I had a signing at AWP for all my Tia Chucha Press titles and the anthology Of Poetry & Protest: From Emmett Till to Trayvon Martin (W.W. Norton) at the Red Hen Press booth. If there were awards for best booth Red Hen would have taken the crown.

AWP 2025 # III -- It was a blast to have my Tia Chucha Press titles side-by-side with the family of Tia Chucha poets at the Red Hen Press booth, which stood out like a bright yellow moon at the Association of Writers & Writing Programs conference in Los Angeles last week.

The Poetry Society of America is pleased to announce that Nikki Giovanni is the 2025 recipient of the Frost Medal for distinguished lifetime achievement in poetry. Named for Robert Frost, and first given in 1930, the Frost Medal is one of the oldest and most prestigious awards in American poetry.
