On Mastodon, it was pointed out how "live forever with human cloning" is similar to "live forever in the computer" singularity ideas: mastodon.online/@wildsown@ma...
Now I am reminded of the work of @xriskology.bsky.social and others regarding the many ways people try to exploit the fear of death.

Elon Musk pretending that he has watched and understood movies reminds me how he continued to miss the point of "The Matrix" even after one of the Wachowskis explained it to him.

I would like to read feature reporting on the various groups responsible for promoting dangerously wrong ed-tech opinions the last several years.

Both comets and asteroids can and do throw off dust and small chunks of material.
Catastrophic disruption, be that from jets spinning up a comet or radiation pressure spinning up an asteroid, is something quite different.

Checking the charts, the Keweenaw Waterway is only 20 feet deep in parts of Portage Lake.
Which would not quite be enough for the Edmund Fitzgerald with a load of iron ore.
The older copper freighters that used the canal were not so large as the Seawaymax and larger lakers.

The ore boats cannot get close to the Keeweenaw shore, though?
What with all of the reefs from the parts of the Portage Lake Volcanics that are not above water.

Yes, I did check.
The rest of the list is books that Elon Musk either did not actually read or completely missed the point of.
