38% never an 12% seldom, so 50% in the bottom category of religious attendance, how close is this percentage in the number of Gen Z that identify in the none category? I am guessing it is also in the 50% percent range.

I do wish that the type of faith that was growing acknowledged the ambiguities/difficulties of trying to discern the existence and thoughts of a divine being, and the very human tendency to believe that we have communication from the divine that happens to line up with own biases and grievances.

I am not a believer, I live a purposeful, ethical, and fulfilling life without any religious beliefs or practices. I do think the all the central claims of Christianity are not evidenced to be true or evidenced to not be true. However I did devote my time to trying to de-convert anyone.....

The people in the orbit of the current admin are hostile to things, drug courts, medications like that manage cravings, and evidence based treatment that prevent od. Last time their efforts to undermine were not focused. This time, well sadly numbers next year will tell (if they are released).

I did try to read article you cited, but it is behind paywall. I do think there is value in assessing ritual and art separate from beliefs. We can separate the art/ritual while acknowledging attached beliefs are either not evident to be true or evident to not be true. Wish more churches did this.

For some lack of engagement/belief in Christianity, and really that is what we are talking about here, stems from indifference or just have not thought about it much. For others it is either an active descision and/or that have thought about it much and reject it for detailed reasons.

Wish you would stay, but understand you need to make decisions about how best to focus efforts. I share your assessment that lack of community/trust and siloing pose an existential threat to the induvial as well as our society, but think your proposed solution is non-starter for many (but not all).

The plural of anecdotes is not data.

There is a lot of people online talking about that they have joined Eastern Orthodox churches, but the data does not seem to indicate that it is growing.
