Last night I had a good catch up with my old mucca @oldedude.bsky.social in a beer garden. I reckon we could write a good book on all of the weird stuff that has happened to us during our time in our sport!

Mens singles final at Wimbledon was great.

Tennis players now look 200% more like athletes than they did in the 70s and 80s. There is no comparison.
Anyway, this Yastremska v Gauff match is great! #Wimbledon

When Sevastova serves she sounds like a wood pigeon. Bizarre. #Wimbledon

This Fognini v Alcaraz match has been outstanding. Kudos to the umpire and players for halting play while medics attend to a spectator. #Wimbledon

Durham is an absolute mess today. The university has organised an open day on the same weekend as the Regatta. Add to that roadworks and one road closed. The Regatta is normally a good weekend. Feel sorry for the people travelling here for it.

I appear to have lost a whole weekend. If anyone finds it, I'd be grateful for its return.

Saw a film at the weekend that I haven't seen in years, 'The Hotel New Hampshire'. A strange and diverse plot based on the John Irving novel. And now I can't get the story's catchphrase and Queen song of the same name out of my head. #KeepPassingTheOpenWindows
