Bright, hopeful, and heartfelt—Superman (2025) brings the hero back to life with charm and sincerity. Corenswet shines, Brosnahan is the perfect Lois, and Silver Age touches like Krypto add joy. A true return to form for the Man of Steel.

Ryan Coogler’s Sinners is the best film of the year—powerful, character-driven, and layered with rich themes beneath a gripping vampire horror story. Bold, brilliant, and unforgettable. Highly recommended. Stay through the credits.

Update on our gumbo adventure: not being an expert in anything Creole or Cajun, I’m not sure this looks right…but holy crap, does it taste amazing!

Making chicken and sausage gumbo for the first time. I’ve never made a dark roux before. This smells amazing!

Captain America: Brave New World had the makings of a solid political thriller, but script rewrites and reshoots weakened it. Anthony Mackie shines as Captain America, and Harrison Ford is a strong President Ross. The heartfelt moments stand out, making me excited for more of Sam Wilson’s Cap.

Freyja met a new friend at 2am this morning and - oh boy - was she excited! Unfortunately that new friend wasn’t as excited to meet Freyja. And that new friend was a skunk. 🦨 🤢

I am REALLY loving Star Wars: Skeleton Crew! Owl people? Space pirates? High Republic mysteries? Nick Frost as a pirate droid? It’s almost too much awesome!

Wicked is my favorite movie of the year. Jon M. Chu masterfully adapts the Broadway hit into a stunning blockbuster with award-worthy sets, powerful performances by Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, and unforgettable music like “Defying Gravity.” Don’t miss it-I can’t wait for part two!
