@maddow.msnbc.com Santa Barbara, CA turned out about 12,000 people… around 10% of the entire population of SB and Goleta. First protest for me, for my husband, for my 87 y.o. (in the USAID hat) mom. Beyond energizing and heartening!

SB is the first protest I’ve ever attended (along with my husband and my very own “fearless grandmother” mom). It was completely energizing and heartening!

…and while my dad, who saved countless lives around the world through vaccination and who lived faith and love, didn’t live to see this current assault on compassion, he’d be proud of my 87 y.o. mom showing up with thousands in Santa Barbara to stand against tyranny and to speak for the vulnerable.

In Santa Barbara today… SO many great signs for SO many issues, SO much encouragement in the midst of this heartbreaking chaos… thousands of people. Keep posting from everywhere!
