thought a bit more (rare occurence):
I either start with a silhouette, a specific feature I want to incorporate or a theme I want to be a main focus. Yushka's skirt and bones combo were a big part for their design, the horns felt like an addition that made sense with the rest. Hellas' arms were THE feature about him that I wanted to play around with. Both of these guys are skinny and unassuming for the rest of their silhouette. Rusalka is supposed to be a fast swimmer so they get a thinner silhouette than Coelacanth, who can dead lift a great white. Kyri is a fucked up mix of human and lion so they get a smooth blend of features.

Ilya will talk to people he is close to about his childhood OR if they had similar experiences. He is however very emotionally distant to it and does not see the extremes of the abuse he went through as clearly as he should and tends to brush it off if he isn't called out on it repeatedly (though this also antagonizes him so it's a fine line). Mosaic will imply some things about their early sex work career but not go into detail unless they're very close to who they#re talking to. Stratov (Ilya's adopted father) refuses to talk about the incident that caused him to join ParaMil/form a PMC. Hellas brushes off his childhood and does not talk about it (human genetic experiment) but he's dodgy about many things. Just a private guy.

The theory I follow is that the eye needs places to rest.
I dislike maximalist designs that have no places where you can just have a break from looking at things. You need to let your eye be drawn to areas of importance and give them the chance to skim over other ones.
Examples from the image: Hellas has four arms. That is THE special thing about his design, they're also very expressive and move around a lot. I want them to be the first thing you see looking at him so they get high contrast and bold patterns/colors, which equals detail. In contrast, his legs aren't really important so they are a space that's comparatively blank, in part due to the lower contrast of yellow/white vs the yellow/black of the jacket. The shoes get detail again so he feels more grounded, in a way. Were they also light in color he'd blend into the background/pants too much and this way they feel connected to the rest of the outfit by repeating the design/colors of the jacket. Ilya's main feature are his face and his prosthetic legs. His outfits are very simple but almost always show off his legs in some way. His hair is bright red and frames his face (dark/light contrast) and the spikes as a bright, condensed spot of accent color draw your eyes to it a bit more. Due to there being two places with detail at the top and bottom, I need a more chill spot right in the middle. My outfit (far left) works off the same logic.

I think while Mosaic would definitely find some of their clients hot, they're careful with keeping an eye on the clients behavior to make sure it's clear to the client that there is no actual relationship. They have safety nets to stay away from anyone who gets a bit too invested in them (a perk of working at The Parlor) and will not hesitate to make use of them. Not sure what exactly Ilya would have done to get to the point where the service turns into an actual relationship but he would have managed to never ring any of Mosaic's alarm bells. They had at least 4 paid dates, the first sort of on the dime of Ilya's squad mates due, but everything after that would be genuine dates. Ilya also watched a couple of Mosaic's shows (burlesque, go-go and strip) and I think there's at least one where they approached him afterwards near the start of their relationship that would be the point where Mosaic realizes that they are actually interested in him. Ilya's smitten from the start but it starts more as a star-struck crush than an actual one and he does tell Mosaic about that so they can make a decision on whether they are OK with that or not. They then switch to going on actual dates at cafés to see if they can actually stand each other outside of sex. Unbeknownst to Ilya, Mosaic's security detail was present for all of them, with mic bug and all. There were like 5 guys around at all public dates for the first half year. (Ilya learned this some years later, he was conflicted) If they did not like each other, Mosaic would have broken off both the casual and the work relationships and depending on how Ilya reacted or what vibes he gave Mosaic/their security, he would have either been permitted to still see their shows or been given a full restraining order to not go to Mosaic's shows or interact with them in any way. Luckily, they worked out ridiculously well. Ilya still had a bit of paranoia that he was scamming Mosaic for like a year and a half but he got over that feeling.

I'll answer this not for a specific OC but as a general answer for all of ParaMil (Ilya, Kyri, Rusalka), including animals.

TL:DR: No. It's either bestiality or like sticking your dick in a pile of molten Uranium.
Does the setting have humanoid creatures? Yes. Pretty much any mythological creature exists as what is essentially some form of mutated animal and/or human. Additionally there are extradimensional Entities that are varying degrees of mortal comprehension that have an effect on the world and beings they interact with due to their nature of being from a different reality. Would any human (or normal animal) sleep/mate with them? It depends. Animals most likely would try if the creature is close enough to the animal's actual species in appearance and behavior. That's how some these mythological species established themselves, unicorns being a prime example: able to breed with deer, goats and equines and bear viable hybrids with a moderate success rate. For more humanoid creatures there are some more things to consider. Generally they can be divided into two categories: animal-to-human mutations and human-to-animal mutations. This is based on the suspected base for the creature's species considering their modern day behavior and appearance, though there are some very grey areas in this taxonomy. Sphinx, like Kyriakos, are considered animal-to-human mutations, the species is suspected to have started as big cats being influenced by extradimensional Entities and mutating from an animal base to a more humanoid form. Merfolk, Minotaurs, Huldra and other very human looking creatures are believed to have started as humans mutating into more animal like forms, whether intentionally or not. With this out of the way, both types of humanoids, while in some cases intelligent enough to make a decision based on their conscious attraction to a creature of another species, are unlikely to attempt to mate with anyone not of their species. Now the part you were waiting for: Mythological creatures and humans are considered separate species and the intelligence/sentience of mythological creatures is generally something between "like an animal" and "like a human" and varies greatly between different types, sometimes even within one species, having sex with a creature, no matter how human it may look is usually considered a form of bestiality and a crime in most/all nations. Lastly, extradimensional Entities. They are generally horrors beyond mortal comprehension. It cannot be said whether they are intelligent or not as the concept simply cannot be applied to most of them. Some are giant monsters, eldritch horrors, formless beings and/or entire realms/dimensions and none interact with this world in a way that does not destroy or change them or what they interact with in some (usually destructive) way. TL:DR: No. It's either bestiality or like sticking your dick in a pile of molten Uranium.
