The move may also help distance NIF from conflict-of-interest qus that had followed leading VC Hommels, whose famed Lakestar fund has investments in some of NIF's own portfolio companies. (For its part, NIF has pointed to policies that it says recused Hommels from decisionmaking on those calls.)
