Hi #PortfolioDay! I'm Mia and I paint in acrylics. My debut illustrated novel, AFIA IN THE LAND OF WONDERS, which I've been working on since 2012 is being published by Scholastic on April 15th--thrilled to finally be able to share it soon! I love painting book covers and fantasy art too.

My profile pic is my “Cosmic Mermaid” piece from 2017, painted with acrylics on wood panel. One of the few pieces I made during that time, while working full time in the service industry. Inspired by my love of the ocean and outer space and two of my favorite undersea characters, Ariel and Ursula.
