I'm watching the Ed Gein story on Netflix and "make the beast with two backs with your syphilitic bride" is the best piece of dialogue I've heard in a minute 😂

Am I old and out of touch or does calling it "vibe coding" sound really lame?

No, Mia, no. You will not go close Oblivion gates again. You have other, new games to play. NO.

I hope mmorpgs are (still) a thing when I retire in 25 years. Because that's somehow when I imagine I'll have endless free time, and not just crippling arthritis.

Listen, I haven't kept up with tariff news. But I know my TimTams coming from Australia went from $2.99 to $5.49 in the store and I am indignant.

Upon reflection, "Valar morghulis" is a raging feminist thing to say. Very menocidal.

Not that I approve or anything, just noticing for the first time 😛

Field research for book writing. I'm... not gonna show you my target paper after. Let's just say I liked teasing the center, never quite hitting it.

I finally started reading Malazan last night and already I've got a good feeling about this one! #booksky #fantasy

Years late commentary but here we go: I actually loved that Jon Snow didn't kill the night king, even if he was foreshadowed as The One. The reason he was brought back could've been another one, that would've been nice to see, but that the battle with the night king went unexpectedly was awesome.

Some of my fellow authors tell me they have a job that allows them plenty of time for writing. And I don't. Dear Gods... I... do not.

Not that I should complain. There are other perks, and this is my choice.

I just can't wait to finish this first draft of book 2!

Sometimes a game is released missing so many pieces but with so much potential to be great that I wish they'd just keep building it, fleshing out all the missing features. Like Avowed. Cook it another couple years. Reuse everything you have but rework it and add a lot.

I think it's important to remember, with everything extremely fucked up and dumb right now, that at the root of it, fuck fuck fucking fucking fuck.

Sitting here, enduring the consequences of my own actions. Well, if you count smashing my toes into my wooden steps in the middle of the night an action. The little ones are red with black toenails now. Mmmm.

Sure, the choreography of Lady Gaga's Abracadabra is great, but have you seen the dancers in Rafaella Carra's Caliente Caliente?

Hey, come on, trickle down economics work.

But also, a trickle is a *small* flow. In some cases, very, very, very small.

Sure, Abracadabra is a great song, but have you ever listened to Laura Branigan's Self-Control? What a banger!

Ever since my friend went into anaphylactic shock from the same bag of peanuts she'd been eating the night before, and almost died, I can't tell if my spoonful of peanut butter is just making my throat sticky or is starting to choke me.

99% chance that they invent anti-aging pills (that keep your age where it is) when I'm 89 and on my deathbed.

If you're feeling ugly, just think of this: we've been around and reproducing for 300k years. Darwinism over that much time must mean we've gotten progressively better looking. So really, you're probably one of the hottest people to have existed.

So much happening in the world right now. And the three questions as these things are reported are: how does this affect me, my loved ones, and society? I think that last one's undervalued, because the kind of society you're in impacts you and your loved ones more than some people like to admit.

Mia's dark, uncomfortable thoughts: past referendums on Quebec separating from Canada caused people to leave en masse, mostly anglophones. A referendum soon could bring some relief on Quebec's housing crisis.

Could it be a motivating factor to hold a referendum or am I just being pessimistic?

Musk must be mortified of his accident. Right? RIGHT???

A friend of mine just finished reading my book and his first question was about my use of a very personal event as a piece of my story.

When something shitty happens, you get very deeply acquainted with it. That does make it easy to write well about it, to know what the character is going through.

GLP-1 drugs, a tremendous discovery--that I'm more afraid of needles than I am of being fat.

My favorite quote for when Alex reminds me I'm 2 years older than her.

"Some say I'm robbing the cradle. I say she's robbing the grave."
