I’m still unsure as to why I entered this into a love poem contest, but it resonated with someone judging and made it into the anthology.

Went to an exhibition of works by brave souls with mental health issues, a tiny painting of an old boat tied up on a shore caught my attention, I could not say why, but it lead to this small poem.

My beautiful old boy, nearly 14 still happy, deaf as a post, inspired this piece

Facebook suspended my account today after I commented on a nasty post ‘if you can’t say something nice then don’t bother saying anything.’
Apparently this does not meet with their standards

I had to write a short poem for our end of year writers group meeting. Watching the world implode is not conducive for positive thoughts.

So lucky where I live, spent morning with fellow poets, exploring new ideas. Have been releasing some of the angst over the big issues I cannot control. I need to revisit the small and beautiful, been holding my breath for too long. This type of poem is called a clarity pyramid.
