If you’re staying on or near the Embarcadero in Oakland, California, don’t miss a meal from El Burrito Supreme #2 truck. I had the most amazing fish burrito from it ($25). Also good: queso birria tacos.

I went to Oakland and god bless whoever Erica is

Holy fucking shit are we still doing this

I had dinner this week at Rei Da Picanha in East Somerville and it was simple and delicious: salmon with lemon, vegetables, rice and beans. I’m afraid I took a photo only of the perfect yuca fries. #Somerville #CambMA

This “pull” sign on a restroom door at Diesel has to be a prank, right?

Perversely excited to hear the argument of how a man who has gone on to become much richer and be elected president was “damaged very greatly” by agents coming to take back government documents, etc.

I’m not sure how long I’ll be able to resist digging into my latest purchase from @portersqbooks.bsky.social – Pynchon’s “Shadow Ticket.” Even though I intended to finish my current read first.

Now that’s an ad budget well spent

Someone give this genius a big raise

I would, but I’m going to be busy signing up for this agentic workflow solution that I saw on a random billboard over a random Dunkin’ Donuts

You can’t fault the Eric Adams campaign for consistency.

Let's check in with how Facebook is doing. Today, in checking a fact about an upcoming event, it tells me that an AI is "here to help," though “some results may be inaccurate or inappropriate."

Thanks to Meta for encapsulating it all so well: "This thing will give you answers you cannot trust."
September 29, 2025 at 1:51 AM
Come on, guys

Literally just dropping them in
September 28, 2025 at 9:56 PM
An absolutely exhausting take from a Boston Globe essayist that maybe "we should treat [AI] as imperfect, rife with just as many fragilities as the human brain – and as many unknowns." Like, why? People are using it as though it's the freaking Encyclopedia Brittanica, which is how it's being sold.

No, you're not going crazy. Today is Saturday the 13th. Yesterday was Friday the 12th.

Let's check in on how Facebook is doing.

When I go to the Meta Business Suite (cringe) this is the prompt that greets me:

The managers at Star Market can't figure out the benefit of posting a sign to say there's a broken part at a deli-counter chicken display. So apparently for six days they've just had people coming by and asking – and getting mixed responses, as not every worker knows or can say.

I can’t help but think about how world leaders talk about Trump and America when we’re not in the room. It is a certainty that they are basically – and probably literally – smacking their foreheads, laughing in disbelief and saying “What the FUCK, man!”

Hey, I sure hope no one missed David Brooks' column Friday in The New York Times in which progressives are blamed for [rereads passages, confirms context] creating a group of terrorists who want to destroy America for no specific reason …

… because, you see, they felt _stifled_

What an absolutely WILD paragraph from The New York Times today about how America cares only about mass shootings, reassuringly back to prepandemic levels of ONLY 271 so far this year.

I remember Americans being upset about mass shootings before the Covid pandemic, to say the least.

So in Apple's Messages, to mute a conversation and stop notifications for it, you want the "mute conversation" icon to look like the OPPOSITE of what you want. In other words, if you DON'T click the bell icon, the bell icon in the chat will show you the opposite: That it IS muted.

Great design!

Hey is it good when it's nearly midnight on the East Coast and Library of Congress search is down and blame is being put on its servers being "swamped"

Hell yes, Wednesday

@natogreen.bsky.social on ‪@thebugle.bsky.social‬ today on polling against the Democratic Party:

"The reason I hate the Democrats is that I would like it very much if they believed anything – anything at all. Start small! Genocide is bad. Ice cream is good. Build from there."

Wow, the Times says Android AI can do all these amazing things for you

If only there was already a way to look up how long it takes to get somewhere, or to compile a list of ingredients, or to … compile a list of ingredients

Anyway, obviously AI is amazing and changes everything

Dare I hope to think this essay will mention the Republican habit of lying constantly and unapologetically?
