In 1981 🇬🇧 employers agreed that workers could self-certify for 7 days instead of a GP's sick note, as a 'sick note strike' in 🇧🇪 showed this reduced absenteeism. Nearly half a century later 🇧🇪 governement & employers are rolling back recent reforms that allowed for 3 days of self-certification. 🙄

Pff, DoD-stats always hit hard, esp. once you start thinking about the likely lived experiences behind them. FYI, I was looking at the newly released ESS-data on health, UK seems to have a noticeably 'nice' gradient in widening inequality in self-reported general health :-/.

As long as social class is visible in the average body height, the "death of class"-thesis is quite overblow.
