I don’t agree with the policy, but how is it invasive? They just look at the odometer at the annual roadworthiness inspection, as is already done.

I seem to recall them saying something like “no waiting here”, deployed when it’s very busy? They also have them at Sung Wong Toi providing additional directions when there’s an event at Kai Tak.

I imagine it will come down to where they could get traffic rights and slots. As you alluded to, would be an interesting workaround to just fly pax to YYZ and put them on a “different” flight from there.

Outbound nonstop is fine as the route doesn’t transit Russia anyway, just the polar return is the issue. I wonder whether it would be more efficient to get back via YVR/ANC or just keep going east via Europe with the tailwinds.

They talked about it on ATP last week: the theory is that the front facing camera/Face ID module is too deep for the body so needs to be accommodated in the bulge in the back, hence the downward displacement.

Hard agree—particularly for my social circle who were more or less trapped in HK until late 2022, there was a very definite end to “COVID” as a thing that curtailed our lives.
