I looked it up. Looks like it’s around around the region of Lake Päijänne or Lake Saimaa in Finland. The scene reminded me of Aswan in Egypt. Has the same overall vibe.

Interesting thing about this poem is the deeper it goes the less the pool of people who are able to speak out becomes. They escalated it fast in this case: illegal entry + crime > illegal entry alone > visa holders > green card holders) in a matter of days/weeks.

طبعاً. الا لو انت مش شايف الحاجات ديه جميلة واصيلة وايها طابع حضاري وانبهرت بالزجاج والرخام عمال على بطال. It takes taste. They don’t have that.

شيء حزين فعلاًً. زمان لما كنت بتمشى في وسط البلد واشوف العمارات اللي باين عليها انها كانت شيك جداً واتبهدلت كنت اقول مش ممكن يحصل كدا في مصر الجديدة بالذات الكوربة. بس كالعادة، مافيش فيها حاجة حلوة بتفضل حلوة.

شيء حزين فعلاًً. زمان لما كنت بتمشى في وسط البلد واشوف العمارات اللي باين عليها انها كانت شيك جداً واتبهدلت كنت اقول مش ممكن يحصل كدا في مصر الجديدة بالذات الكوربة. بس كالعادة، مافيش فيها حاجة حلوة بتفضل حلوة.
