MD/PhD, Neuroradiologist, specializing in functional neuroradiology/neuro-oncological imaging. Views are my own, but will be avoiding political discussion anyway to maintain my sanity.
As a resident of Illinois, Texas, please get out of our state. No one wants you here. Think about what you're doing to America.

Left the country for a week. Returned and read the news. Immediately brought up google flights.

So, when are we going to get an AI that will see an imaging order, apply the ACR appropriateness criteria, contact the ordering physician & change the order as needed? I'd rather have that than the latest aneurysm detector.

One saves me about 30 sec. The other would save me half an hour. #radiology

Was looking for a stock photo of a radiologist and most look like this:

Yes. I always look at printed films in the CT scanner room.

I've heard from colleagues with international residents who are worried about their visas and are planning on leaving the United States as soon as possible. In a country with a massive physician shortage, this will hurt every American, especially those in underserved and rural areas.

Stock market erased nearly a year's worth of growth in 3 days. Looks like we're in for another round of radiologists working for 10 years longer than they wanted to.

woohoo! Ovechkin.

Ugh... being a radiologist when they call for a doctor on the plane is pretty awkward. I mean I'm a doctor, but the last time I dealt with an emergency that wasn't an allergic reaction was 13 years ago.

Luckily, a more suitable doctor was available on our flight.

About the leave the country, wish me luck coming back!

Years ago, I had the privilege of visiting the home of a Navajo code talker. Despite what this admin does (apparently it's "DEI" to make a code the Nazis never broke), we can never forget the sacrifices & contributions they made.

Example code:
Spain --> sheep pain --> deba-de-nih
Info on Navajo Code Talkers is scrubbed from Army, Defense websites
Several military websites removed any mention of the Navajo Code Talkers, who played a key role in World War II intelligence, citing new DEI rules.

Strange to go to work and pretend things are the same.

Hey radiologists, do your institutions give you credit for non-clinical activities like lectures, academic work, tumor boards or proctoring med students? #radiology

Excellent. Going to Vienna in a few weeks and I would have reconsidered it if the neo-Nazi party took power.

Come on, Wisconsin. Don't be like Texas. Some counties have less than 50% of kids vaccinated for measles. There is no way this won't be a nation-wide crisis soon.
Wisconsin kids have second-lowest measles vaccination rate in the nation
Eighty-two percent of Wisconsin's 2-year-olds had a measles shot in 2023, per state health data, down from 88 percent in 2013. Some Wisconsin counties saw much bigger drops.

On my way to ASSR for some exciting spine #radiology. Looking forward to a break from politics and to avoid the coming snowstorm! @theasnr.bsky.social

I would rather have a dictation software that actually works than any of the AI tools that are proliferating in #radiology.

What use is seeing a brain bleed slightly faster when I spend a large part of my day fixing typos or erasing random line breaks and spaces in my reports.

As someone from the DC area, this is the first time I've been excited to watch NFL games since the early 1990's.

Hey radiologists. How do you guys manage intra-op x-rays or CTs at your institutions? Seems like a waste of everyone's time to be reading them when they were only used for surgical guidance and, by the time it gets to the radiologist, the patient is already out of the OR. #radiology

When I'm looking at my own images, it is incredibly disorienting to have the left on the right. #radiology

I love the Christmas call. For the most part, only people that need to be in the hospital come to the hospital. No CTs of the entire body for someone who's had symptoms for the last year.

Finished DuoLingo Arabic. Took me a year. I had taken a semester in college. I guess I could read better now, but there's no way I'd be able to talk to anyone.

Now to decide if I should try to learn a new language or get serious about learning Arabic?

I love some spicy snacks, though not sure about "numb" as a flavor.

Hey #neuroradiologists - when do you get your residents started on head and neck imaging? We start with our first years (usually second neuro rotation) to get them ready for call, but when they pick up those complex cases, I wonder if it's the best use of time (for both of us). #radsky #neuroradsky

Hey neuroradiologists (and neuroIRs). Any of you guys using dual energy CTA for treated aneurysms? #neuroradiology #neuroIR #radsky
