Norwegian, lost online. Endometriosis messed up my insides; life messed up the outsides. more allergies than I can count (due to dyscalculia that isn't saying much.) Likes kindness, humor and coffee. Can be relied upon to totally mess up.
It is! I was in school while we celebrated the 50th anniversary of the end of WW2 so I suppose our curriculum was maybe especially heavy on the "how could it happen? This easily. So remember to think for yourself."

I keep watching the world today and think back to school when we'd learn the song "Din tanke er fri" (your thought is free) and write papers on the importance of source vetting and watched The Wave (TV movie) and I feel like what I consider "education" might be considered "dangerous" by some today.

I sometimes worry that we've created a whole world where a lit of people are just trained to don't do "logic" because it might contradict the opinions you're told to hold, and it's easier to just hold whatever opinion you're told in order to avoid being ousted by what one considers one's "tribe".

And yeah, I am even talking about here. Like sorry, we should all just be on top of eachother where the first humans began humaning I guess.

Called it! Although, like... I always feel like it's a little weird to have a cutoff date like "nah my ancestors were okay and I am proud of them but the people doing the same now are bad". I yearn to hear someone say "MY ANCESTORS WERE ALSO WRONG AND I DON'T BELONG HERE" if they hold those views.

As long as it aligns with their view on the one single issue they think politics is supposed to be about (cough most commonly immigration cough) they're all "Yes they are doing it right over there".

Let's just say that as far as with people I know; the Venn diagram of "having an ability to see long term effects and generally grasping the big picture of situations" and "thinking this is good" are just two circles so far divided, one's on the moon. Tend to be single issue voters with blindspots.

That's... Not surprising because we got some people here that somehow think it's great. I just don't get it, to me dude's always come across as about as charismatic as the common cold, and not quite as smart. I guess I am culturally biased like... "trained" to see bullies as inherently weak...

I feel like there were some people voting for "this is obviously gonna make shit worse for you personally as well" which means there was some part of "being tricked" involved. Like "don't worry, this golden age you'll be a robber baron. Not [insert lyrics of 16 Tons]"

The Distance and I met at the wrong time (awkward 12 year old in a Grunge Only phase), so it wasn't until Short Skirt/Long Jacket I really got my eyes up. But oh, am I glad I did.

"I called you because somehow my rent bill has disappeared from the register of outgoing payments and it's not because it's paid AND I NEED TO PAY THAT TO HAVE A HOME so... No matter how nice the person on the call is, the technical errors are still heavier factors in if I advice my friends.

I love this song so much, it introduced me to the band. And without this song I wouldn't have known Sheep Go To Heaven which I love even more.

Tbh I feel like there are a lot if historical leaders that's been remembered as "great at their job" that has the "also kind of hated having that job" vibe. Especially the sycophants bit.

Marcus Aurelius because I find Meditations a calming read when anxiety does what my anxiety does best; make some inner stone age person think everything is three hungry saber-toothed felines in a trench coat.

Hell, Norway can be pretty darn cool sometimes so may be comparable at times 😅

I have never felt more like a Bethany.

I naturally read it as alternative spelling "huh?" and had a second of "is a hœ phase a short term period of bad hearing?"
