Many PhD students teach alongside their studies. It’s a great way to gain relevant academic experience, and, in many cases, earn some extra money.

Publishing is an area many PhD students are keen to get to grips with but it can be difficult to know where to start and how to be strategic about which aspects of your research you commit to articles.

Getting to grips with event organisation could be a key skill for your future, in academia or industry. It can also be a lot of fun! Doing a PhD offers you many opportunities to support event organisation, and perhaps even plan one from scratch yourself.
