I have avoided making a lot of comments on social media lately because I believe in the power of relationships. I believe in the value of conversations and will be happy to discuss privately with anyone who disagrees.

Literacy and understanding finances requires learning. Our Founding Fathers had their flaws, but understanding that public education was essential for democracy was not one of them. Attacking education is an attack on democracy.

I am scared for my students. For those that think that teachers should just shut up and teach, I will remind you that teaching is one of the most political activities one can do.
