The hearing got bogged down on who can testify about the Peace and Friendship Treaty of 1752 as an expert. The judge granted MRA’s request to adjourn the hearing so they can file the proper paperwork. The hearing resumes on Sept. 24/25z

8. A DFO official stated that these First Nations have been issued licenses but there are no signed agreements between those First Nations and DFO regarding the elver eel fishery.

7. DFO stated that fishers with these First Nations will need to provide conservation officers with a copy of the license issued to their respective First Nation and a piece of identification to prove their fishing is authorized by DFO.
