Markets like this is why it’s important to be debt free - or low debt - and have a sizable emergency fund.

As volatile as the market is, I am thankful for options trading to help make up for it.

Did the first round of golf yesterday and walked two miles. Great exercise and I still got the great drive off the tee box.

You know the world alliances are shifting fast when European news is abuzz with rumors about finding ways to have Canada join the European Union.

I love that my company looks at managers as coaches, not as managers. We develop the people we supervise, and are rewarded for it. It’s the favorite part of my job.

I hate when both sides barely win and proclaim a mandate to lead. If you barely keep the House and only win the popular vote by a few million, it’s not a mandate.

Overreach is real on both sides.

It’s been good for my mental health that I only listen to Symphony Hall on Sirius XM, and not talk radio. Just so much more peaceful.

Is there a way I can sue my city for not maintaining our streets well? I just got my second flat tire in a month, and fourth in five years. The previous 20 years I only had one in my old hometown. But Spokane sucks at street maintenance or fixing potholes.

I would recommend a great work of political science called Democracy: the God That Failed by Hand Herman Hoppe. He contends that an inherent weakness of democracy is its instability and how one party can totally reverse the last parties’ accomplishments when they get into power.

I know the strategic reasons the US would want to control Greenland. But here’s an easy solution: don’t piss off the Danes and NATO. Don’t piss off the Canadians. Done.

I’m a huge believer in the promise of what ChatGPT and other AI search functions can do. Already I’m using it a search engine, but it’s so much better than Google or Bing. It curates the information you ask without you needing to scroll through results.

Looks like Manifest Destiny is the order of the day again. And tariffs. Trump really loved the 19th century and it makes sense. In 1901, progressives started their serious reforms and to the Right it “messed everything up.”

Unpopular opinion, especially in some circles on X: Elon Musk’s Dept. of Government Efficiency is a gimmick. He’s smart about many things, but smart people also have blind spots and are incredibly naive on others. This is him being incredibly and willfully naive.

Ran a policy idea I’ve had for years past ChatGPT, and came out with a proposed constitutional amendment. It will allow a national referendum system in the US, while balancing checks and balances and federalism. It’s just leagues better than what I’d have considered.

I saw #Wicked yesterday in theater. I’m at a loss for words. It is so emotionally draining, so beautiful, so amazing you can’t put it into words.

As a musicals lover, this raises the bar for stage to screen adaptations.

I never do this, but up going to see it again in theaters.

French lessons seem to be paying off. It’s been a few months since my last one, and I could understand maybe every third word of a sentence in French.
