i'm working on a free editor for the yamaha #dx7 that fits in the device view of #ableton. it can save/load DX7 patches, randomise params, copy+paste ops, and you can even type a freq ratio in as a float and it will convert to coarse and fine!

if you're using ChatGPT to learn about synths and production, be careful. it's mostly right, but these are 4-operator synths, which is a pretty important distinction. learning a few facts and one lie is more harmful than just facts thru proper research.
