My suspicion for my family is an ancestor changed the last name to match the last name of rich people where they settled (new last name was an anglicization of old last name).

I love it, but I think it's misunderstood. It's not a great love story; it's a story about two awful people being awful to each other. Then they die and their descendants get their money and are less awful.

Flip side: Maeve was not one of the top thousand most common names when I was born. It's now in the top hundred. So I'm used to jumping into a spiel for my name that suddenly isn't needed.

The battered)dingy just refers to how paperbacks can come to look very "well-loved" over time. My favorite paperbacks, that I've read dozens of times, have cracked spines, watermarks, etc from me reading them so much

I got so sad when I realized that my husband (taller than me by 7 inches) does not commonly lose feeling in his legs/feet from.just sitting down in "normal" chairs
