Democrats, pick 3 things to focus on. For like 10 years. And make those 3 things what everyone needs and cares about. Pay attention to how JD Vance co-opted the classic Democratic tropes of my youth at the RNC and captured the attention of everyone who felt abandoned by Democratic Elites.

People can’t keep track of the Democratic party. Most people want simple. Is the world simple? Not at all, but we spend our days trying to sort out the mess of life and clear answers are what people seek. That’s why religion has prevailed throughout history and it’s why Republicans win elections.

Criminal justice reform. Infrastructure. Gun control. Campaign reform. $15 minimum wage. Glass–Steagall (anyone else constantly forget what this one is?).

What do the Democrats stand for? Tax the rich. Abortion. Trans. Pride parades. Climate change. Free college for all. Medicare for all. Obamacare. Anti war in Iraq. Pro-palestine. Defund the police. Bitcoin bad. Universal childcare. Student loan forgiveness. DACA. MeToo. I mean Who can keep up?

The main problem with Democrats is the long term is a complete lack of focus. For most of my life Republicans had three focii 1. Lower taxes 2. Pro-life 3. Guns more recently it’s transitioned to 1. Lower taxes 2. Pro-life 3. Immigrants bad. They harp on 3 things & they win. Why? Easy to remember!
