Had a fun photoshoot with my cousin Cierra back in May for her college graduation!

Last week we had some rare visitors to our area, ten Black-bellied whistling ducks (Dendrocygna autumnalis) showed up and hung around the day at Lake Crabtree, just off of the Black Creek greenway in Cary, NC.

Every time I go to Lake Betz, I always see this red-headed woodpecker or his friend busy storing and snacking on acorns.

This weekend, I took a trip to North Topsail Beach with friends. On Saturday morning, I decided to visit the north end, despite the area being flooded from the king tide and supermoon, and a scary encounter with quicksand, I was able to observe the threatened Nelson's Sparrow in its natural habitat.
