#OTD 14 March 1934 Motherwell signed Charlie McGillivray from Manchester Utd, he played outside left, outside right, inside left & centre forward.
Moved to Dundee on 27 September 1938.

#OTD 13 March 1970 Bobby Watson and Brian Heron were signed from Rangers and Peter McCloy moved to Ibrox in a ‘no money’ deal/swap.
Bobby and Brian made their debuts against Raith Rovers on 14 March in a 2-1 defeat at Fir Park.

#OTD 12 March 1952 the new highest attendance at Fir Park was recorded.

In a Scottish Cup quarter-final replay Motherwell beat Rangers 2-1 thanks to goals by Johnny Aitkenhead and Wilson Humphries.

35,632 fans paid + season ticket holders took the total to 37,000.

4 games later, Cup winners.

#OTD 23 February 1995 Steve Kirk & Paul McGrillen moved to Falkirk in an exchange deal + £100,000 for Eddie May.

Their last Motherwell game was on 18 February when they came on as subs in the 65th & 80th minutes against Hibs in a Scottish Cup 4th round game.

#OTD 63 years ago on 17 February 1962 Motherwell played Stranraer in the Scottish Cup at Stair Park.
Motherwell won 3-1 thanks to goals by Willie Hunter & a double from Willie McSeveney.

#OTD 16 February 1991 Phil O’Donnell played his first 90 minutes for Motherwell in a 2-0 loss away to Rangers.

He made his debut on the 24 November 1990 in a 1-1 home draw with St Mirren.

Incredibly 12 weeks after the Rangers game he played his part in a momentous day in the history of MFC.

#OTD 11 February 1933 Alan McClory became the first Motherwell keeper to be sent off.
He was sent off at Fir Park v Rangers in 3-1 loss in front of a crowd of 30,000.

Bobby Ferrier took over in goals.

Alan was the first ‘Well player to be sent off since David Thackeray in 1927 (4th photo).

#OTD 7 February 1972 Chairman Andrew J Hepburn died age 63 in a Glasgow nursing home.
Seven months earlier he had taken over as chairman for the second time & had been a director for over 24 years.
He served his first period as chairman between 1953-58 & was co-opted to the board in September 1947.

41 years ago in January 1984, Andy Ritchie was freed “a week or so ago” according to the programme issued for game against Dundee on 14 January 1984. Would've liked to have seen Andy stay longer at Fir Park.

‘Mr Motherwell’ hung up his boots in December 1983 after an incredible 16 years at Fir Park.
The position as Second XI Coach was the last he held at the club.
Inducted into Hall of Fame in 2020.

Paul is in hospital and hopes to be home by this weekend.

After beating Rangers 3-0 on 3 January, watched by 11,383, they beat Celtic 2-1 at Fir Park before a crowd of 15,290.
All five Motherwell goals were scored by Brian McClair.
