I like to remind people that the internet is still architected in such a way that it does not have to be centrally controlled. We can choose to take back the internet with a little effort and intentionality.

Additionally, as I understand it, this technique uses a fraction of the compute power and electricity of the traditional weather models, while also completing its runs in less time. I'll modify this post if I later find out that this is not true, but I do find it plausible.
