Gave this a watch last night after seeing some folks on here talking about it. Reminded me of the Platinum Dunes TCM movies in that the ongoing torment is more tiresome than horrifying. The bar scene is something special though.

Truly an impressive feat to make the original seem quietly dignified.
Effects were great and the gooey, painful liquidation of bodies reflected how I felt during the forced “wackiness” of the script.

It’s bad to so completely misunderstand the source material, and even worse to claim you are a brave genius for doing so. Gonna chalk it up to youthful arrogance like the Jason Goes to Hell guy
