Anyway final thoughts are that this was a pretty decent season finale and I like that it left on a good note with everything wrapped up for the most part but this was a fuckass season! The first half was sooo promising, even with all the time wasted with the hotshots storyline, it was still fun +

Despite the oddness of the second half of season 8 and the killing off of a main and vital character, I’m gonna be watching season 9 because I have an unhealthy attachment to this show but also I really want to see if they make Chim captain, that would actually revitalize my interest

The only parts that truly got me in this episode were the Athena and chimney make up, chimneys firehouse monologue, and Mara finally being adopted :’)

so many of the plot lines for season 8 went absolutely nowhere. especially everything that involved Buddie, they truly had one episode where they somewhat played with the idea and then it went absolutely nowhere. Even if they pick it up and continue it in season 9, this has just been shitty writing

in all honesty, aside from all the horrible shit that went down in 8b, I did enjoy this finale and I really hope they follow through with Chimney as captain because if Hen wasn’t going to be it, he 100% was my next pick + this means medic Eddie and Hen
