Fleer commissioned Laughlin to recreate his work and in 1970, there was a new Fleer baseball card set, in full color. There were 10 World Series cards in each pack, which retailed for 10 cents.

The Mets were comfortably above average in innings from their starters in both 2023 and 2024. Last year they were woefully below average, which probably doesn’t surprise anyone reading this.

Maybe the shoulder injury ruined Conforto. Or perhaps what we saw was a somewhat normal decline from the 122 OPS+ in 2018 and 127 OPS+ in 2019 that Conforto produced without an inflated BABIP.

Schwarber, is coming off his best year ever versus LHP. In 276 PA versus lefties, he had a .252/.366/.598 line. Even prior to ’25, Schwarber was not an easy out for southpaws, as he had a .739 OPS with a .181 ISO.

Since July 21, Alvarez has a .286/.370/.598 line, which is a 169 wRC+. In just 38 games, Alvarez has amassed 1.5 fWAR, which if extrapolated out to a normal catcher’s workload would be in the 5-WAR territory.

McLean is 4-1 with a 1.27 ERA. He’s got a 3.29 K/BB ratio, with 46 Ks in 42.2 IP. McLean has a 1.4 fWAR and a 2.1 rWAR, his rWAR is higher due to the use of runs allowed as the base pitching input, compared to fWAR using FIP.

Siri can’t hit. He had one unsustainable six-week hot streak in 2023, where he hit 13 HR in 130 PA and had a .908 OPS. But from July 1, 2023 thru the end of last season, Siri had a .194/.252/.384 line in 622 PA.

Actual results – Soto has a 4.71 WPA, the best mark on the Mets and well above Pete Alonso’s 3.38 WPA, the second-best mark on the team. Also, RE24, with Soto having a 46.71 mark compared to Alonso’s 25.34 in the category.
