The church was built from 1931 to 1932 by Hermann Albert Mohr according to the principles of New Building or New Objectivity. The building serves as a church, retirement home, community center, kindergarten, monastery, and rectory. During a conversation with a resident of the Klausenerkietz, I learned about the sale of the building due to the order’s financial problems. The commercial building was built by the architects Kayser and von Groszheim from 1903 to 1906. Since the end of the 18th century, the property housed the Mitscher & Caspary winery, founded in 1785 by Johann Nicolaus Caspary (1758-1839) and Johann Justus Mitscher (1755-1802). The building was located in the Marienviertel district and was presumably destroyed in World War II. Today, the site is occupied by the vacant lot in front of the television tower. The four monumental Art Nouveau candelabras, or arc lamps, attracted particular attention. The bridge and the candelabras were demolished during the redesign of the square in 1926.

Hidden behind an inconspicuous Wilhelminian-era residential building lies a magnificent building, built between 1890 and 1891 by the architects Enders and Hahn for the Josty brothers. The mighty Avant-corps dominates the courtyard with its neo-Gothic façade. The building was severely damaged during World War II and remained a ruin until 1990. It was renovated from 1994 to 1995.
