The dense forest paradoxically deafened the noise as you got close, leading you to the silent center of the call. There, in the dead silence, lied a stone among the forest floor. A large stone propped up against an ancient tree trunk. The stone had sprouted tree like growths from it's sky pointed face, turning a pale glowing green color that drank in the sunlight that peeked through the canopy. Behind the bushes and tall uncut grasses, the motionless coil of rootlike tendrils eked out across the soil.

A concrete room behind opened. steel blast doors. The concrete room contains an entity. This entity's long lower body is coiled up like a snake, its skeletal upper body is hidden beneath a tree which sprouts from it's head. Wings lifelessly curl to the main body. The lower section of the snakelike body is engorged and appears to represent a Knot from a tree but coils like an inward spiral. Tree roots dominate the room, spreading far to the walls and even up them while tree branches fill the ceiling and trail down the walls to meet the roots. A elongated root system reaches out towards the door and stops where the caution area begins.

Three figures dressed in hazmat suits appear before the door to the entity's room. One has their hand on the second figure, reassuring them or cautioning them. The third figure is carrying some manner of chainsaw tool. The three approach the entity, the first figure pulls a knife out with trembling hands. Their stern, wizened face appears nervous right before they plunge the knife into the Knot of the snakebody. With a quick slash, the figure cuts through the knot as if it were nothing but fragile flesh, and liquid sprays onto their suit from the fresh open 'wound'.

In my book there is a goddess that formally had no name, the unknown goddess of change and history that played an important part in the events of the world. She came to be called Meteréyu, and her descendants and avatars became known as the Metréu.
