I would reckon it’s less the VC funding and more internal decisions/feeling like they have to keep up or be perceived to be innovative. Especially if they are older established apps they probably aren’t chasing early stage/growth funding.

Fair enough, I saw an old review you had for their debut album Definitely Maybe - funny read as from memory you kind of indicated they would come and go without much impact. I reckon it’s worth a re listen - one of the absolute classics for me!
