for WIP Wednesday peep the post-Azure Moon fic I’m writing where Ferdinand obtains a ghost (it’s Hubert)
Ferdinand breathes out. Breathes in. He goes back the way they came, his childhood memory of the dark and lightless castle corridors flawless to lead him to the former Prime Minister apartments. Ferdinand sets his load on the reception table before moving to the adjourning personal quarters. He doesn’t need to be able to see in these rooms, but he lights the sconces anyways. A small flicker of Fire moved from forefinger to the oil-slick wicks: “A parlour trick,” the ghost murmurs next to his ear.
