Game Club is a manga by mozocry, and is one of my favourites. I want to make every* game featured in the story into a real, playable thing, and I started with Netherstone. The manga claims the game is "easy" but it's actually incredibly difficult and weird to play. Or maybe I'm just bad.

finally adding dynamic point lights to the engine. very simple forward rendering, for now. i have several useful buffers i could use to implement deferred rendering but ive never done any of this before so im going to keep it simple.

here is an attempt at baked lightmaps in my videogame (custom engine). ignore the fact that it looks too bright, these are daylight lightmaps taken at night. i encountered many unexpected problems trying to get these looking correct + i think filmic tonemapping makes the lights look oversaturated :(

implemented temperature. look at the neat convection currents! i've also noticed that the body of water expands which I am unsure is physically accurate.

the heat glow is just a debug thing :)

oil floats and stone sinks. it's also interesting that the oil sticks to the stone particles while they pass through it.

im having classic boundary issues™ too

I can now make a beach!! Mass isn't properly implemented and neither is friction, so my sand looks a little like a liquid...

It's parallelized, but it's all on the CPU because I really don't enjoy GPU programming. As expected it's already starting to slow down at 20k particles.

liquid-grain interaction is a lot more difficult than i thought, but it's mostly working

Placing fluids. This reminds me of OE-CAKE! but I'm aiming for a Powder Toy alternative.

Also I had to speed this video up 2x because of the 1 minute time constraint...
