It's probably also relevant to note that, on what should have been day 4 of the first Test, this happened in Brisbane. To be fair, they were back in play 90 minutes after 28mm of rain fell, which is remarkable!

The question as to why that first Test should be held at Perth rather than the Gabba has one compelling answer - the weather. There are currently 20,000 shell-shocked English fans wandering around Perth in comfortable 22C heat.

The forecast for the first day of December says it will be 39C!

The Messy Guerilla Safari continued today with a lovely lunch with the delightful Will Reynolds at the truly exceptional Packhorse, just outside Bath. Many thanks Will!

One major unresolved matter for AI is, "How accurate is it?"

The attached contradictory answers to the same question, "Which is further north, Birmingham or Cambridge uk" both appeared atop the same Google search page.

It's pretty basic stuff, but it seems AI is totally untrustworthy.

Every damn time!
Whenever Australia defeats England in a cricket match, they are absolutely devastated when they discover that, somehow or other, it was just another case of England scoring a "moral victory".

Since you're already on Bluesky, I guess you'll already know this, but this is precisely why Bluesky has become a decent place to be.
Thank you for protecting us from the hellscape of hatred that has enveloped Twitter @bsky.app

I was going to go to the WACA today for the Women's
#AUSvIND ODI, but it is crazily hot!

Thank goodness this didn't happen during the test match. This is the primary reason why the first Test match each season needs to be held in Perth!

It takes a bit to distract me from Test cricket, but I must say that this little fellow in the letterbox really captured my attention this morning. Not sure who posted him to me, though!

The run rate chart is really quite interesting. Unlike sme other teams, India has tended not to finish really fast, maintaining a steady rate throughout. NZ are steadily catching up, and putting themselves in a position where the target remains possible. #CWC23
