Meet Penguin! RESCUE ONLY. Too young for adoptions.
Penguin is skinny, had too many fleas, and is dirty. We estimate age at 5 weeks, but only weighs .8 pounds. He did eat for us which is a good sign. He is being treated for the fleas and given dewormer (this is a norm at intake)...

We always need volunteers who can foster for us locally in Mesquite, east Dallas, Rockwall, Garland, etc. If you can't foster, we can still find other ways for you to help!

We also need adopters! If you're looking for a kitten, cat, or even a dog, we can help! Just get in touch.

What you can expect from us here: we almost always have some kitten in need -- either hungry or sick or injured. There will be cute kitten pics. We'll also be showing you cats in the shelter that need homes. We'd love if you shared these adoptable cuties (often transport can be arranged!).

Our volunteers serve as an independent foster unit for the shelter, giving young kittens a chance to grow up and receive all the age-appropriate veterinary care needed to be eligible for adoption. We try to raise funds to feed kittens so that our fosters don't have to pay out of pocket.

Mesquite, TX is a suburb of DFW, just east of Dallas. The shelter there aims to be considered "no kill" (a 10% or less euthanasia rate), but can't do it without organizations like ours. We are 100% volunteer-based and need your support.
