You know... Looking back to my early childhood, I think "Cats" the musical inserted the furry gene into my genome.

I use the Baratza Encore. It's a well-built machine but not cheap. Repairable though, so I'm hoping I can make it last long enough that it'll cost less in the long run.

Under-extracted coffee is sour. You'd either need to grind it finer or use hotter water to fix sour coffee. Burnt and/or overextracted is bitter.
A lot of cheap drip brewers don't heat water enough and you can end up with sour coffee that way.
I agree that coffee is a pleasant ADHD cope 😁

If you're in it mostly for the caffeine and not coffee flavor, then pretty much any machine will work, but I still do recommend getting a burr grinder and buying whole bean. It's really a huge upgrade in quality ☕
