Wow it’s been a busy few months. I live in New Paltz now! And work in Kingston! It’s the first fall in 7 years where I’m not panic-prepping courses!

I love undergrads and miss some parts of academia, but not others. And I’m super excited about my Riverkeeper projects (both new and continuing)!

Update! We went from 3 guinea pigs to 10, after discovering (experiential learning!) that our male was not neutered.

There had been a clerical error in which somebody at the SPCA thought Fixed=“N” meant “neutered.” So we had no qualms about getting a few females!

It…didn’t mean neutered 🤣

Took my Ecosystems lab sampling today since it was balmy for November! Great idea on paper, but I think I messed it up.

All we needed was to collect and filter creek water but dammit, they kept getting distracted. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG.
