unemployed.
yes exactly. genuinely just the combination of impunity and a desire to hurt people weaker than you.

The richest man in the world bragging about starving people to death sounds like a plot from an over-the-top dystopian movie but that's what happened

yes. before this year, i used to think rich villains in films like james bond or shows like fallout were two dimensional and unrealistic. turns out reality is even more unbelievable.

yeah i cant imagine they would join a left coalition tbh. whatever rump remains might see mps switching parties (some towards green or lib dems, others like blue labour to reform)

though the chances are slim there is now hope for some kind of progressive coalition at the next GE.

me too. i find this Labour government to be unbearable, and the prospect of reform even more unbearable. before the green party surge everything felt completely hopeless.

my prediction is really only based on Labour managing to far exceed my most pessimistic expectations of them. so we will see, i guess.

i think he *is* a blue labour mp. from what i understand there are more labour mps that support blue labour than the 7 who admit to it publically.

not sure what you mean by this. but what i mean by more right wing is he is both more illiberal and economically right.

i think collapsing membership makes their vote hard to predict. esp in context of previous internal elections that were set up to give them v little choice.

i think nationally Labour vote will collapse further post May elections. for now it seens to be collapsing faster in the regions who have elections coming up in May (Wales, London, Scotland).

i think its more plausible they'll go even more right with Streeting.

i think it has always been about us tbh. a big part of the brexit campaign was the suggestion that Turkey might join the EU and suddenly free movement would include the muslim other.

the pancakes and waffles thing is about theory of mind, right? like we struggle to understand content on the internet is not about us. like really almost never about us or our issues. this is my hot take.

i agree. i remember there was a study ages ago that showed that social media was less of an echo chamber then other news media diets, where you are *more* likely to see differing opinions as it feeds on conflict.
