I’ve heard this one is not the best book of the series so far. A lot of Violet and Xaden just not communicating very well. I can’t believe it’s over 800 pages too! Like that’s CRAZY

Overall, not my favorite but still interesting sometimes. There was a lot of history put into the book which I was surprised about. I wouldn’t recommend it but I don’t regret reading it either. 3⭐️

I’m not 100% sure why I did a reading thread for this book because all my thoughts ended up being is just “???” The ending was a bit lame and apparently we had all the clues to figure it out but like cmon no we didn’t?? Like I know I’m not the smartest but still.

I’m starting to remember why I struggled with this book multiple times. It gets too dragged down by the details. I know the books wants you to try to solve the murder before/with the detectives but I don’t really care where each vent hole is in all 16 rooms.

Trying this book again for the third time!! I think I can like this book, I just have to give it a good try. It feels like a pretty easy read so I’m optimistic.

I finished it. This book just wasn’t for me. The only character I even sort of liked was Finch and he was sort of on the fence for me. Nobody in this story responded normally except for the step-sister. All in all, just not my vibes. I’m going to try a different genre next to hopefully help.

I figured he wasn’t actually dead but I still find Alice a bit insufferable. 😪 really trying to finish this book but it feels like a chore

I’m not surprised Alice is not fully human. It does explain her anger (which is something I didn’t like about her character) but idk if it’s enough to redeem her in my eyes. I’m over halfway through the book and I’m sort of over it now. I miss Finch though 😭

Characters that have this rage in them that causes them to act out and yell always bother me. I think it’s because in that situation I would follow instructions and keep the peace but these YA protagonist will yell at cops and are just so quick to snap. It’s a little annoying tbh

Honestly this book feels a little more like horror than fantasy. I suppose it can be mixed but with all the bad luck and the breaking and entering like I would be afraid for my life at all time. It’s amazing how chill Alice is really

Super excited to start this!! I love fairy tale type books. I’m a little worried about reading another YA book but it’s about it expire from the library so I have to read it now.
