Thank you to emergency services for the rapid response to the van explosion on Queens Road this morning, believed to be accidental. Wishing the driver a swift recovery.

I’m in touch with Wimbledon Quarter owners who will share more details when able 🧵

Here’s the AELTC’s letter justifying, and my response refuting, their attempt to retrospectively change the law in their favour, by removing protection from public trusts of land like Wimbledon Park.

I’m disappointed by their tactics but remain committed to finding a solution.

As Paul says, given what the Tories have said locally, it's deeply concerning that they tried to conspire with AELTC to re-write the law in their favour.

We will keep backing Paul in his fight to find a sensible compromise for the community.
Deeply disappointed by AELTC.

They should be working with Save Wimbledon Park & the community to find a compromise, not conspiring with Tory Lords to re-write the law to push their industrial scale tennis expansion plans through.

Both Mitcham & Wimbledon police front counters will close under the Met's new plan & there will only be two 24hr 'public facing' stations left in London.

This makes our campaign even more urgent. Sign our petition today to stop these closures! 👇🚨

Many thanks to the GDST for inviting me to the launch of their report on “Designing the Future of Girls’ Education”.

My 4 daughters all benefitted from attending single sex senior schools & it was lovely to meet the Head of Wimbledon High School, where one of them was a pupil.

Today marks the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

In Wimbledon, 40% of eligible women aren’t attending screening, while Merton remains one of London’s only boroughs without a dedicated screening centre.

I’ll keep fighting for better access for our community.

Paul is standing up for residents & calling for an urgent meeting to address District Line issues 👇
My constituents on the Wimbledon end of the District Line are at the end of their tether at the constant breakdowns.

We’re always at the end of the queue when it comes to upgrading the signals.

It is time for TfL to bring us forward into a (working & reliable) front carriage.

Wonderful to kick off party conference speaking about our motion, Policing Fit for the Future.

When local police stations close, a vital link between the police & the public is broken, a link that is so critical to policing by consent.

I would not be here without Wimbledon police station.

Now it's under threat again, with its front counter due to close, I asked the Minister whether she agrees that local stations like Wimbledon’s are critical to neighbourhood policing & public safety.
