As I begin (with great joy) a new harvest season at the community farm I'm part of, I cannot turn my eyes from the impact on small scale local farmers by regional conflict and terror imposed by Israeli forces.

In October I attended the Martin Luther King Lecture at my university in Amsterdam, given by Bryan Stevenson. A powerful moment of his lecture was the clip included here, where he says, "the opposite of poverty is justice, & when we do justice we deconstruct the conditions that sustain inequality."
