When I lived with my parents we used to have carpets in the house. My mom and I both sewed. I can't tell you how many times my family had close calls and/or stepped on needles while we were walking around the house. 😬

What helps me is having a stitch marker on the needles before and after the different stitch pattern (so before the purl row starts and after it ends). This reminds me that something different is happening for those stitches. ☺️
